MV Surprise Cruises - Charter Services

Having a function? Do it on the MV Surprise. Our classic 80 year old (built 1926) ferry with enclosed lower salon and open upper and aft decks ensure comfort for all.

We are in survey for up to 60 people however we recommend groups of up to 40 for the most pleasurable atmosphere. Cruise Southern Moreton Bay and the Nerang River the way boating is meant to be enjoying a few drinks with friends while the ships master steams along at a leisurely 6 to 7 knots.

Charters can be arranged for morning, afternoon or evening trips

Parties - Birthdays, Anniversaries, Theme Nights or any occasion

Need to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, hens night or any other worthwhile reason for getting together with friends then why not enjoy it all while our crew meander on the waters of the broad water.

You decide the duration of the voyage 2, 3 or 4hrs and the crew of the MV Surprise will show you as much of our waterways as they can over this period. Special requests on destinations will be considered and complied with where possible. A selection of beer and wine available at bar prices. No BYO allowed.

Catering available on request at additional cost per head through third party suppliers or provide your own.

50% deposit required on booking and balance paid prior to departure. Cancellation fees of 30% of the cruise fee will apply with remainder of deposit credited to your account. Credit card facilities available. Cruises 3hrs and over are limited to a maximum forty persons. Larger groups will be on approval by MVSC management only.

Corporate events, Christmas and New Years functions

Thinking of a corporate event, Christmas party or New Years celebration then what better way than a cruise on the Nerang River or North of Southport on the Gold Coast broad water.

Entertain visiting business associates, present your new product or properties, treat your employees with an end of year function on a 2 to 4 hour cruise on the MV Surprise.

Depart from Marina Mirage in Southport and take the Nerang River for views of Paradise Water, Chevron Island, and Surfers Paradise before heading north to Labrador, Sovereign Islands, Hope Harbour and Sanctuary Cove. The voyage can be as long or short as you wish dependent on the time you have available.

Catering can be arranged by third party suppliers or alternatively organise your own caterers to prepare and serve on board. Take the 4 or 5hr cruise with a break at Hope Harbour or Sanctuary Cove for lunch or dinner.

Lunch stopover cruise departs 1000hrs with stopover between 1200 to 1330hrs returning Southport 1500 to 1530hrs. Dinner stopover cruise departs 1600hrs with stopover between 1800 to 1930hrs returning Southport 2130 to 2200hrs approximately.

Group Jet Ski Expeditions

In cooperation with GC Jet Ski MVSC can offer corporate group jet ski expeditions.

Organise a group adventure session with a cruise, jet skiing, BBQ and drinks all available through MV Surprise Cruises. Departing Marina Mirage in Southport at an agreed time onboard the MV Surprise to complete safety briefings while heading north with ski’s in tow.

When we reach areas that are safe to board the first group of thrill seekers they will head off while the rest enjoy light snacks and refreshments.

Groups will then be progressively alternated from the vessel to jet ski’s so everyone gets to pilot and passenger the jet ski’s in areas where other vessels will not be a hazard and the thrills and spills of free styling can be thoroughly enjoyed.

Everyone who wants to gets to ride or simply relax on the top deck enjoying the spectacle.

After a couple of hours of a truly exhilarating time on the jet ski’s we will fire up the BBQ for snags, burgers and steaks as well as open the bar to wash down the food and salt water as we slowly make our way back to port.

Groups of up to forty people will be accepted for morning or afternoon expeditions.

4hr Expedition - $4,000.00 plus $25.00 / head

This offer represents great value for groups of all sizes and only available with MV Surprise Cruises and GC Jet Ski.

50% deposit required on booking and balance paid prior to departure. Cancellation fees of 30% of the cruise fee will apply with remainder of deposit credited to your account. Credit card facilities available. MVSC operates on a zero alcohol level for all drivers. Any person consuming alcohol will be restricted from participating in the operation of any jet ski or other vessel under the control of MVSC. Morning tour departs at 0830hrs returning approximately 1300hrs and the afternoon departure will be at 1400hrs returning approximately 1830hrs

Group Transfers and Ferry Services

MVSC can arrange group water transfers for all your needs whether they are for wedding parties requiring water transfers between church and function centre or just to make a spectacular entrance.

Please call us to discuss your requirements and pricing. The vessel can be hired on an hourly basis from starting port of Marina Mirage Southport.

Hourly hire of the vessel inclusive of ships master, deck hand and diesel is $440.00 / hr or part thereof based on time departing home berth at Marina Mirage and returning at the completion of hire.

Ferry services for up to 60 passengers to cater for your special event, boat show, Indy or any other function can be arranged on a daily hire basis. Please contact us to discuss your specific requirements and terms of hire.

General conditions: Quoted prices are subject to change without notice. Sanctuary Cove / Hope Harbour cruise with lunch or dinner stops are based on prior arrangements and availability organised by the booking entity. Reservations for required numbers are to be confirmed with the restaurant being visited and remain the responsibility of the booking entity. Cruise based on travel time only with a maximum 1hr stop over at dining establishment. Jet ski expeditions are based on fixed charge per tour plus a rate per head for food. No BYO alcohol will be allowed on any trip to comply with liquor licensing conditions. Persons 16 and under can operate jet ski’s only if accompanied by a person holding an Australian recognised car drivers license and able to take immediate control. Every person whether driver or passenger of a jet ski must sign hire agreement and take part in safety briefing. All instructions provided by MVSC staff must be fully complied with at all times to ensure water safety of all participants and other water users. Hourly and daily hire conditions to be arranged and agreed between both parties prior to commencement of hire.
